The small village of Langenstadt, located in the Franken region of Germany, was mentioned in the 18th century as the site of bloody conflicts.
Langenstadt was the site of an important event: it possessed a neutral house belonging to the cloister of Langheim where the opposing parties met to come to a peace agreement.
The village centre included an inn and a dance lime tree with a circular dance floor held up by eight stone columns linked by stone benches. This lime tree was first a justice lime tree, and later became a dance lime tree. It died in 1990 and was replaced by a young tree that is now part of the village’s festivities.
